The four pieces included in Moods
are unique compositions that combine Lior’s different influences, the
classical background and the modern jazz into an original style and a new
concept of the classical guitar.
Lior
Yekutieli was born in 1964 in Israel. When he was 9 years old he started playing
classical guitar. Three years later, Lior was already giving concerts, and since
then he was winning the American-Israel scholarships, playing as a soloist with
the Israeli chamber orchestra and doing TV and radio recordings. During his army
service, Lior became interested in jazz and developed his skills in improvising
and composing. In 1989 he traveled to USA, where he graduated from the
Musician’s Institute of LA, befriended Scott Henderson, and recorded with Jeff
Berlin, among other leading musicians. He continued from there to Europe, and
for several years performed his music with his band, Exit. In 1992 Lior
came back to Israel. Since then he dedicated his time to recording two CDs of
his original compositions, composing, and appearing in live concerts.
